Hope you are having a great week thus far and hope you all have a great weekend. Today I thought I’d keep it a little lighter and write about my current favorite things. 🙂 Enjoy!
1) Scrabble Letter Decor:
A couple of months ago I went to a friend’s house and I saw that she had decorated her apartment with actual scrabble letters! I loved the idea, bought the game scrabble, and put words all around my apartment.
2) Mason Dixon Jars as Decor:
I recently found a huge Mason Dixon jar in my apartment and was originally using it to hold cough drops but then decided to use it as a flower vase- I love the end look 🙂
For the last couple of months I have been making it part of my night time routine to light candles. I have been finding a great selection lately at the dollar tree. I find the candles very soothing and relaxing.
Pandora is a radio station on the internet that is free. If you sign up for a free account you can make up to 100 different stations based on your tastes and preferences. Pandora usually nails my tastes right on the head. I love hearing my old favorites and fresh new music.
5) Composition Notebooks:
I have been journaling and writing a lot lately-I went through two beautiful journals in 4 months and I bought a third one and then it broke. It was then that in order to be more budget conscious I would buy myself two composition notebooks to write in. I like that the pages are long and that the lines themselves are wide so I can write in a relaxed fashion.
6) The characters of Paige Collins and Leo in the movie The Vow.
I finally saw the movie The Vow at the urging of my friends at work and I am still figuring out if I liked the movie as a whole but nonetheless I really liked the characters in the film. Leo is a recording studio owner and Paige (before the brain injury and a little while after the brain injury) is a sculptor. I love that they are a younger married couple and they are both artsy and cool in their own way. I like their apartment and some of the sculptures that Paige made. Also Paige’s wardrobe is fantastic!
7) Cross-Body Bags:
While I was de-cluttering my apartment I found I had a lot of these types of bags. I started using a couple and found that they are awesome! Having your hands free is fantastic!
8) Thrift Stores:
Today I was doing laundry at a new laundromat I found (much cleaner and nicer than the ones I was going to before) and next store there was a nice air-conditioned thrift store. I went in the store while my laundry was going and I bought 6 books for two dollars. Yeah doesn’t get much better than that! I am definitely going to hit up more thrift stores for books and clothing in the future!
9) Jillian Micheals Kickbox Fast Fix:
I am trying to develop an exercise routine and have found that if I want my butt kicked and want some serious cardio I can always go to my Jillian Micheal’s workout dvd’s. This dvd is broken down into three twenty minute workouts-thus far I’ve only done the first workout but am definitely going to switch it up and do the other two workouts. If I’m feeling really ambitious I will attempt to do all three workouts. I’ve tried kickboxing before and I found that I really liked it. The first twenty minute workout had me sweating and I was definitely sore afterwards!
10) Sara Barielles:
I was fortunate enough to see Sara Barielles in concert at the Alice Summer Thing. This girl is amazing! She sang and played the piano STANDING UP. She is obviously a seasoned and gifted performer. She sounded fantastic live. If you get a chance to see Sara go see her! She is awesome.
I hope you enjoyed my list! Have a great weekend 🙂
