This is something unrelated to finding a job and work life but this is a topic that effects everyone whether they are in college or not and that topic is saving money. Here are some great products/services that can save you some serious money.
1) MetroPCS Wireless Service:
Okay so some of you may be reading this thinking HA MetroPCS? You mean the phone service you use if you are a drug dealer and don’t want the cops to catch you? Okay MetroPCS is an unlimited wireless service and there are no contracts so those kinds of situations could be happening BUT MetroPCS is great if you are someone who can live without the Iphone and does not want to pay more than 50 bucks a month for your cell phone service. I have been with MetroPCS for almost a year and I have had a pretty positive experience.
I am not tied to any contract-I can change phone companies or cell phones whenever I want. My cell phone plan is 40 dollars a month every month. I’ve looked online and MetroPCS actually offers some really nice touch screen phones and the service for those phones cost no more than 50 dollars a month. It is unlimited talk, text, and web. You can’t beat that price!
My mom told me about Chegg.com and I am so glad she did. If you are in college you know how expensive college textbooks can be. You buy them at the beginning of the semester for outrageously expensive prices and what do you do at the end of the semester? Sell them back to the bookstore for a fraction of what you bought them for? Find the time to sell them on Amazon? With Chegg you don’t have to do any of this.
You put in where you go to school, your classes, and what books you need and Chegg gives you the option of renting you your textbooks for the semester for a way lower price than buying them and at the end of the semester you ship them back and that’s it. Chegg saved me so much money and I was impressed with their fast delivery.
3) The Dollar Tree:
Everyone makes fun of me for my obsession with The Dollar Tree. However The Dollar Tree has saved me a lot of money. At The Dollar Tree everything really is one dollar (not like those dollar (and in tiny print and up) stores).
I have gotten so many useful things at the dollar tree for way less than I’d find them at other stores. I buy brand name toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash all at the dollar tree.
Also I rarely EVER go to Hallmark’s for my greeting cards, wrapping paper, and gift bags anymore. They have all of these items at the dollar tree! You can buy two greeting cards for one dollar (that definitely beats Hallmark’s prices).
Also another thing I always get at the dollar tree is balloons. Balloons can be two to four bucks a pop and if you are like me you like to get people a lot of balloons! At the dollar tree you can get great balloons for one dollar. For most of my friend’s birthdays I buy them at least five balloons and I get them at the Dollar Tree 🙂 My friends love my balloons and I’m not broke! It’s a win-win situation.
What are some ways you save money? Please let me know 🙂
